Walk into the warm water at Escambrón Beach for a 1 to 1.5-hour guided snorkel with a professional diver. You’ll get instruction, gear, a life vest, and a GoPro video. Guides such as Lily, Jill, Rey, and Kenzie have been praised for helping beginners and finding turtles, though weather and currents can change the route.

“This was a great experience!! We had Jill, I believe. She was lovely. So when you get there you check in and then you're asked to give info about your swimming capacity. I was put in a group of four who were all comfortable swimmers but there were groups with less comfortable swimmers too. I really appreciated that it was a small group format. Then you get your fins and mask and then get in the water. The water was beautiful. We ended up seeing two turtles! I recommend going in the morning if you can, as I have heard the water is calmer. The beach is also less crowded.…”

“Really enjoyed the day in the el yunque. The hike isn’t that strenuous, but you do have to walk across slippery rocks and climb over tall rocks, so bring grippy shoes. Mario our tour guide was really helpful giving us a strong hand when needed. He definitely put in work. We got to do two natural slides, a cliff jump, rope swings a couple times, and hang in the cool water- so nice. You can opt out of jump and rope swings if you’re too nervous.”
